Paintball Guns
Paintball guns
are also known as paintball markers. They are central to playing paintball.
A paintball gun uses expanding gas to propel paint balls to and target
other players.
Top-of-the-line paintball guns can fire paint balls that travel as
fast as 300 feet per second. In fact, a paintball gun could theoretically
shoot at higher velocity, but this would be unsafe. At 300 feet per
second a paintball will, at worst, cause pain on impact and leave a
bruise.
Paintball guns make use of
a body, a hopper, an air tank, and a barrel in order to fire paint balls.
In order to prevent the unintentional firing of a paintball, markers
also have barrel blocking devices. This is the equivalent of a safety
on a rifle.
